The first real snow of the season!

The first snow of the season has fallen yesterday. It was beautiful as it fell and the yard turned to white.

I went out and took some photos in it, trying my best to capture some of the feeling of the season. I posted a couple on my flickr stream. Click on the image below and it will take you there to have a look.

Now the chores that come with the snow are setting in. I have to shovel off the walk, and scrape the windows on the car, etc. Its all still fairly new to me, even after two years here on the east coast.

I am looking forward to my trip down to Arizona, can't wait to see my folks again. I don't see them enough anymore. Its going to be a great visit. I'll be sure to post some photos of the trip while I'm down there. Keep an eye here and on my flickr stream for updates.

Today I received my Canon 5D Mark II and it is AWESOME.

So today I received my Canon 5D Mark II and had a chance to play with it a little bit.  I havent processed any photos taken with it, but will tomorrow, I promise.

Its low light performance is spectacular so far, and I have been able to take shots I would never have been able to take before with my Xti. It is an entirely different beast.  I cant say enough about it, its a night and day upgrade. I purchased the kit with the 24-105 f4L lens, and I have to say that the combination yields stunning bokeh, and incredibly sharp images. The lcd on the back is a beautiful thing.  The shutter is nearly silent compared to my xti, and I think its quieter by far than any other camera I've used or heard used.

I did try video mode, but I just filmed my dog and nobody wants to see that so I'll just delete that and make a better video tomorrow to post with the snapshots.

On a different note, I revised my website and welcome everyone to give it a look and drop me a note to let me know what you think.  The link is
